Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Harding Elementary is a public school located in El Cerrito, CA, which is in a large suburb setting. The student population is 454 and the school serves K-6. In 2019, 53% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 60% scored at or above that level for reading. The school’s minority student enrollment is 60% and enrolls 29% economically disadvantaged students.

After reading and discussing the book "Just Ask" by justice Sonya Sotomayor, we created our own classroom garden were students "planted" their unique plants.
